After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, you are transported to enjoy the scenic beauty of Periyar, known for its wildlife sanctuary and a perfect place to unwind. After arriving at your hotel late afternoon you can enjoy the tranquility of Periyar by going on a boat safari on the famous Periyar lake which provides not only scenic beauty but also boasts of herds of elephants, bisons and a lot of bird life. After such an eventful day you can reitre for the night in the hotel for the night.Day 03 : Periyar
Since early mornings are the best times to spot a lot of wildlife you can take a walk around the National park or simply enjoy the scenic beauty of nature in the morning. Head back to the hotel for a refill (read breakfast) and then head towards the Spice plantation or if you are the adventurous sort you can go for a small trek with an escort in the jungle. Head back to the hotel for the night .Day 04 : Periyar - Kumarakom
Arrive fresh at the lobby for a heavy breakfast and then leave Periyar to head towards Kumarakom which is situated on the banks of Lake Vembanad and on the way visit tea plantations and factories.After arriving at Kumarakom enjoy the scenic beauty of the sunset on a cruise. Retire back in the hotel for the night.
After all the days of hectic schedules this is a day of leisure to explore the place on your own and head back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.Day 06 : Kumarakom - Houseboat
After a good night's rest and breakfast, check out from the hotel towards a houseboat, one of Kerala's unique experiences, where you get to saty for 2 nights and journey towards Alleppey with an excellent view of the backwaters and staying on board the cruise for the night.Day 07 : House Boat
Its not enough if the experience of the cruise on the houseboat with the backwaters in view is just for a day..it needs to extend for another one...so another day in the houseboat with an insight into the rural life of Kerala, still journeying to Alleppey. After journeying on water it is time to get back on land! After breakfast, disembark from the houseboat and drive to Cochin. In Cochin, it is time for a free afternoon and gear up for a power packed performance of one of Kerala's most traditional dance performances - Kathakali and stay in Cochin for the night.
Cochin alone, in Kerala, has a lot to offer in terms of tourism. One needs an entire day just to explore this place. So, the itinerary for the day is a complete tour of this magnificent city, starting with a scenic view of the Fort of Cochin, which was the ancient capital of the Dutch, then the Portuguese and finally, the British. The day continues with a vist to the old spice market at Mattancherry, the antique shop on Jews Street, the Synagogue, the Dutch palace and the Church of St. Francis where the mortal remains of Vasco da Gama was buried before it was shifted to Portugal. After this grueling day, it's a n evening of leisure and relaxation with a overnight stay at the hotel.Day 10 : Leave Cochin
Finally, it is the day to come back to reality. The holiday has just come to an end and it is the last day at Cochin. It is a day of having no time schedules or itineraries to follow. You are on your own to spend the day as you like and arrive at the airport on the scheduled time to disembark from Cochin airport towards your destinations.
